Age is Only A Number
I am happy with my age. I am past the doubts, trials, and tribulations of youth and I look forward to many years of adding to my wisdom. The way I see it, the more years I experience, the more blessed I am!
Many people my age are concerned about being replaced on the job by a "young, promising talent." But, I have something no amount of young talent can replace: experience and expertise.
These attributes can only be earned with years of ceaseless effort. I am confident in my abilities and prove myself every day to be an asset to my employer.
I am confident in my appearance. I have the glow of good health from my years of eating right and exercising. I take care of my skin and use anti-aging products to look my best. If a fine line shows up here and there, I wear it with pride, knowing that a happy life of laughter can cause such fine lines.
I am a loving parent, spouse, child, and friend. My loved ones appreciate me for my lovely personality, wit, and healthy sense of humor. These qualities are what they see when they look at me, rather than my age.
Age is only a number and it makes no difference what that number is. I am youthful, vibrant, good-looking, and healthy, regardless of the date that is written on my birth certificate.
Today, I accept the aging process. Every year I can put under my belt is another year of wisdom I can add to my repertoire.
Self-Reflection Questions:
1. Does the physical aspect of aging make me uncomfortable?
2. What can I do to boost my self-confidence?
3. How can I keep myself feeling young?

A Positive Body Image
A positive body image enables me to have more fun in the sun.
Summer is a time to go outside and soak up the beauty of nature. After a long winter, I am determined to enjoy my summer vacation time. Nothing gets in my way of having a good time in the sun.
I make a mental inventory of all the things I love about my body. I start with my genuine smile. My smile radiates the confidence I feel in my soul. My confidence is what makes the real splash.
When I am out in the sun, I am concerned with getting a nice tan and having a good time. The shape of my body is the farthest thought from my mind. The beach is far from a body-judging contest; it is a place to lay back.
In front of the mirror, I look myself in the eye and speak words of affirmation to myself. I am beautiful from the inside out. The beauty inside me radiates through my face and overtakes my appearance.
I am relaxed about my looks. Time spent in the sun is mean to be fun without thinking about my body. Everyone has a feature that they dislike about their own figure. I refrain from being critical of others the same way that I want them to overlook my imperfections.
Today, I choose to relax about my looks by accepting my body the way it is and dressing it with confidence. I focus on having fun and I shut out any thoughts of comparison.
Self-Reflection Questions:
1. Am I self-conscious about how I look in a swimsuit?
2. How can I choose a swimsuit that flatters my body type?
3. Why is it important to have a positive self-image?

What if / Healing Depression
What if steals the could be.
Wondering "what if I fail" or "what if I am wrong" are sure steps
toward inaction and failure.
You see those thoughts are there to try to help save you. Negative thoughts are often hidden helpers. They are there to help you avoid disappointment,
embarrassment and wasting time and energy.
Maybe when you think about finding a exercise class you think "last time I only went to
two classes before I quit". That is a "what if I fail" question. So lets say you never start that class.
You definitely didn't fail because you didn't start.
You didn't succeed either because you didn't start.
What if " I take this new job and find out later that I should have stayed at the old job?" The hidden help here is an attempt to avoid the humiliation of being unemployed
or having to hear "I told you so".
What are some of the hidden helpers you have received lately?
These thoughts can be of benefit so use them when making decisions.
When a negative thought comes up identify the hidden helper message. Is the thought an attempt to alert you about safety or acting to quickly?
Look for the value behind the idea, you the information and decide on the best course of action.
I look forward to reading your comments.
